Catalogue note: Known for his ink-and-wash paintings, Wang Naizhuang graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1953, and was taught by Chinese masters Liu Haili, Xu Beihong, Wu Zuoren and Li Kuchan. Wang's learning experience has allowed him to integrate both Chinese and Western styles skilfully and with grandeur. He does not confined to a particular theme, instead preferring to explore and showcase his ink-and-wash techniques in portraits, birds and flowers and landscape paintings, forming his own unique style.
