' (bottom right)Catalogue note: Known for his realistic and accurate depiction of still life, Jan Bogaerts was a master in the representation of textures and materials. He received his education at the academies at Den Bosch and Antwerp. Under the influence of his Den Bosch master, Antoon van Weelie, Bogaerts started to paint in the manner of Symbolism. His works can be seen in Netherland museums such as Gemeentemuseum The Hague, Teylers Museum and Noordbrabants Museum.
