Signed and dated 'Jannot / 1936' (bottom right)Catalogue note: Co-founder of the 'Forces Nouvelles', French painter Henri Jannot studied at the School of Applied Arts and Lucien Simon's studio at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His work, which rejects simple naturalism, is often austere. It highlights the architecture of the form and the power of the subject line. During his career, Jannot presented his works throughout the world in exhibitions in galleries, museums, exhibitions such as the retrospective exhibition of French Artists in 1983. He continued to work in his Paris studio, he died in July 2004.
