Catalogue note: The heavily potted vase is moulded with peony-scrolls above a band of carved overlapping lotus petals. The trumpet-form neck is applied with further peony sprays beneath horizontal ribbed bands on the underside of the flaring mouth rim. The body is covered overall with a crackled glaze of sea-green tone with the exception of the unglazed foot rim.
Provenance: Acquired from Christie’s, Sale 15487, Lot 67, Invoice no. DB18007222. Acquired by the vendor's father in the early 1930's, and then by descent within the family.
