Catalogue note: Bridget Davis is an English artist. She received her education in Fashion and Textiles from University of Leeds. Since returning from teaching fashion and fashion illustration in Milan, she has been painting figures and illustrating fashion. The main protagonists are usually female because the artist is a woman. Davis uses the genre of fashion painting to create scenarios and characters to tell secret stories drawn from her personal experiences and desires. The ladies in her paintings are elegant and confident, but they are also playful and have a definite sense of mischief about themselves. The artist is living in Kent, England.
